Erin McNiece graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1984, determined to practice law in a small town on the Guadalupe River – Seguin, Texas. She joined Larry Lippe & Associates and learned how to handle whatever walked in the door – including family law matters, real estate transactions and disputes, debt collection, estate planning and probate and criminal defense. However, Erin wanted to specialize in litigation and in 1988, began commuting to San Antonio, Texas to practice insurance defense litigation.
Erin has defended clients in counties all over the State of Texas – ranging from minor “fender benders” to wrongful death auto/trucking cases, products liability lawsuits involving property damage, personal injury or death, premises liability cases involving slip and falls, drowning or rape/assault, breach of contract cases involving automotive repairs, construction defect litigation, including representation of Engineers and Architects, and environmental tort litigation. Ms. McNiece also has extensive experience in taking Examinations Under Oath of insureds to determine if a claim is genuine or fraudulent – including claims involving fire, theft, burglary, vandalism, property damage, and business interruption. She has taught and managed others in the taking of Examinations Under Oath, stressing at all times the need to treat the insured with dignity and respect – while insisting upon getting all information and documentation necessary to allow the insurance carrier to complete the investigation.
Despite over 25 years handling insurance defense litigation, Ms. McNiece’s practice representing clients with matters involving agreed or disputed family law matters, real estate transactions and/or suits to quiet title, and probate litigation continues to grow. Erin has tried to verdict cases involving breach of contract, Deceptive Trade Practices Act violations, divorce, defense of easement rights and will contests.
